Our dining room table is set and waiting for Christmas dinner. Without really intending it, this year’s Christmas table became a somewhat vintage tablescape. For the first time, I’m using my mom’s Lochs of Scotland transferware for Christmas. I’m not sure why I’ve never used them- fear of breaking pieces, maybe? But packed away in a box suddenly seems like such a waste.
Snowflakes became part of the theme as well. I printed out family photos with a snowflake border for place cards. Snowflake confetti (from Target’s dollar spot) is scattered around the table. The charger “plates” are actually cardboard cake decorating boards. Someday I’ll get the real thing. I don’t like the plastic ones, so waiting for a deal on glass chargers. Funny, huh? Don’t like plastic, so I use cardboard- yep, that’s me, a little nonsensical. Just a little.
The iron Christmas tree holds vintage ornaments that I also inherited from my mom.
Along with mom’s ornaments, I’ve also collected a few from Tuesday Morning.
The table is all set for Christmas dinner. Any volunteers to cook? Anyone?
On another note, our kids are flying in tonight for Christmas- woo to the hoo!!! I can hardly wait! I hope you have a joyous Christmas celebration with your family and friends. And don’t forget why we celebrate- a Savior who loves us more than enough. I can’t think of His birth without also remembering His sacrifice. “We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” 1 John 3:16. Love and blessings to you all. ♥
