Hey, guys. After finishing the stenciled feature wall in our keeping room, I started working on a dresser that I want to use for a tv stand. It may or may not go in the keeping room- still up for debate. Anyway, that project is taking much longer than I had hoped, so I thought I would show you some pictures from our trip to the north Georgia mountains last weekend.
After the reunion, Dad asked Richard to take a different route home, along a winding back road.
Did you catch that?
We soon turned onto a dirt road, where Nanny and Poppy got married. Literally, on the side of the road. They had eloped, met the preacher on the road and got married then and there. More on that story later.
Dad pointed out a swimming hole where he spent summers growing up. I would love to have this in my back yard.
Coming back out on the paved road, we passed signs welcoming us to Georgia, then North Carolina, then Georgia. Yeah, the roads are that crazy curvy. Or as our son called them when he was little, “squirmly.”
Imagine this view in a few weeks when the leaves start turning- magnificent.
I love going to the beach, but there is just something about the mountains that makes me long for a home there. How about you? Mountains or beach?
