Hey, how was your weekend? On Friday, we had the open house at the shop where I have my booth, so it has been a wild couple of weeks getting ready for that. In all the craziness of cleaning and cooking and fluffing, I didn’t quite get these graphics transfer trays finished in time for the open house.
I used my Doodle Magic transfer medium to apply the graphics to all three trays.
To find thrifty decor items at super cheap prices, look for outdated country style pieces that have great bones. This first tray sported a rooster (or is that a chicken?!) and red plaid. I love roosters, but I didn’t care for the colors and style. The “chicken wire” detail on the sides caught my eye, and I knew I could do something with the tray.
A little paint and glaze, and a French graphic from Graphics Fairy updates this tray nicely. See the chicken wire detail and the great handles?
Another trick to finding potential decor at great prices: look in the toy section at thrift stores or yard sales.
This little tray was scuffed just a tad, so I painted and glazed it and added yet another graphic, this time an all American Home Sweet Home from Free Pretty Things for You.
Which is your favorite? Any ideas for using all those building blocks?
