Has spring really finally arrived? Think it’ll stay awhile? I’m welcoming spring in the foyer with a little artwork shuffle. Sounds like a dance, doesn’t it? You don’t want to see me dance.
You saw this little vignette when I did the lampshade update.
And you probably got a sneak peek of this picture when I showed you the French flower bucket makeover. I have mentioned before that Lou Gordon is one of my favorite artists, and “The Art Gallery” is my favorite of the three prints we have. It was originally hanging on the wall behind the tv in the living room, before we moved the tv into the keeping room.
Yep, I said behind the tv. I had rearranged the furniture at some point, but didn’t move the picture, so it was almost completely hidden behind the tv. I think it only stayed that way for about a year. Give or take a few months. Shameful, I know.
I don’t mind rearranging furniture, but I hate putting multiple holes in the walls, so it takes me awhile to figure out if I REALLY want to rearrange artwork.
My daughter gave me the botanical postcards for Christmas, in my favorite lavender hues.
I originally had the postcards tucked into the wood and metal shutters that were hanging over the foyer table. What happened to the shutters, you ask? They now live beside the Lou Gordon print over the mantel in the living room.
Now I have a dilemma. The shutters don’t really match the frame, but the frames on the two prints match each other. Should I paint the frame on “The Little Harbor” print? I would love to reframe them both with something beefier, but framing is so expensive.
