Last time, I didn’t have any before pictures for you; this time, I don’t have any afters, but wanted to show you what I’ve been up to at my booth. Patti and I share a room, so we decided to work together on refreshing our booth spaces.
Patti’s side of the room had a mural that had been painted when the house was a tea room. Before we could start painting, she needed to sand down the raised and glossy areas of the mural. The 3M Clean Sand System worked great for keeping the dust down.
We also had tons of holes to patch and sand.
The painting took a full day because we had to move all our stuff to one side, paint, then move everything to the other side and paint. Needless to say, no customers wanted to enter the disaster area.
I can’t show you the finished room yet- umm, because it isn’t finished– but here is a sneak peek at the paint color. The painted archway that still appears in this picture actually isn’t visible now that the paint is completely dry.
I love how a newly painted room feels so clean and fresh, even if the area is still a disaster zone. One side benefit to painting is that when you move everything aside, it’s easier to see new possibilities for arranging your space.
Patti had a great idea to do a faux brick treatment over the fireplace, so we have been working on that the last two days. Will show you that next time. Whew, I’m tired! What have you been up to this week? Any plans for the weekend?
