Hey, guys. We’re almost to the end of the new home tour. Next stop is the master bath. As with the other rooms, there are still a few things I need to do, but y’all keep asking, so I’m showing you the new house in all its unfinished glory.
As you enter the bathroom, the vanity is on the left. The empty corner on the opposite end is where I plan to put an armoire for linen storage. I thought it would be easy to find an old tv armoire to make over, but haven’t found one I like yet.
The light fixtures are the two-light version of the one in the guest bath. The door you see goes into my closet.
I love this soft grayed lavender paint color. I did restrain myself and only used it in the master bath and my closet.
Opposite the vanity is the shower.
I found this floral branch towel hook at a thrift store and thought it was perfect for a cottage woodland theme. I need to figure out how to camouflage the screws, though.
Just past the shower is a little cubby that we left open for a future tub. We’re not bath takers, but we decided it was a good idea to keep the option for possible future owners. The French desk we previously used in our foyer now lives here.
You can see the water closet through the doorway, another place we used a pocket door. Just to the left of the water closet is the cubby waiting for an armoire.
I have always stood at the sink to put on makeup, so this feels quite luxurious. All the extra time needed to pluck chin hairs is now done in relative comfort….
I would like to add a valance to this window, so that’s one more fabric to add to the shopping list.
One regret I have with this bathroom is that we didn’t put a window in the water closet. It is the only spot available to check who has driven up to the house. Because of the way the land was graded, the garage sits several steps down from the house and we can’t see out the garage door windows.
