Next up in our new home tour is the guest bath, which is located just off the short hallway behind the living room. The bathroom reveal was supposed to be posted before the guest bedrooms, but I accidentally hit a wrong button somewhere …. ~sigh~
Considering the white toilet, tub, and tile, I decided to add warmth with this driftwood finish with a chocolate glaze.
We chose a granite remnant for the top.
We picked up the tile flooring from Lowe’s- Calacatta White. The veining looks similar to Calcutta marble.
Other than the recessed lights, nearly all our light fixtures were ordered through Black’s Lighting in Greenville, SC. If you live in the area, ask for Cindy- she was great to work with and very patient with my struggle to stay in budget. I didn’t receive any special deals or discounts for mentioning Black’s; I just like to pass along info on people and businesses that have been great to work with.
To maximize functional space, we used pocket doors in several areas. The guest bathroom is one of those spaces.
A swinging door would have made it really awkward to get into the linen closet, as well as making the vanity area feel cramped.
I’m working on towel hooks and will add artwork or a shelf over the toilet. Actually, I don’t even have a tp holder in here yet.
Although I haven’t decided on window treatments for the “public” areas, we did at least put up blinds in the bedrooms and bathrooms. I’m sure our guests are relieved.
The guest bath is screaming for more color, so I would like to add a curtain or valance which will also soften up all those hard surfaces. So much white, I’m not sure if the shower curtain will stay, either. Or maybe I should paint the walls a less neutral color?
