Yeah, I know I’m really late with the Christmas decorations this year. I’ve finally finished with pretty much everything I’m going to do. Let’s start with the foyer table. I did a quick mini tree makeover and created a Christmas vignette.
The tree originally had red berries and a brown burlap base. Cute, but doesn’t fit with my non-traditional blue and purple Christmas décor. Yes, that’s Christmas greenery on the floor in the background. Believe me, it got much worse!
I started snipping all the berries off, then realized they were attached with wire, much like twist ties. I untwisted dozens of berries, removed the darker burlap and replaced it with white burlap left over from my burlap rose topiary. For a sweet, simple look, I tied short strips of burlap to the branches and added a few ornaments.
The perfect size for our foyer table.
I replaced the lamp with this lantern Christmas-ified with a purple candle and silver balls. I have plans for this lantern after Christmas, can’t wait to see if it works out the way I hope.
My dollar store bird has been upgraded to a $2 bird from Kirkland’s, love the decoupage music and frosty finish. Oh, and I sprayed a touch of snow on the nest.
Have you used PicMonkey yet? I had to try out the winter fun with this picture of my mini tree makeover and Christmas vignette. Best part? Add a little “snow” and no one can see the dust! If only it were that easy in real life….
I’ll be back with mantels, wreaths, and the “big tree.” Are you finished with your Christmas decorating and shopping? I’m just getting started with the gift buying- oh, my!
