Thank you so much to everyone who prayed for my dad. He did great during his epidural yesterday. We’re hoping and praying that it will give him relief from the constant back pain.
As you know, I haven’t gotten much done in the way of projects the last couple of weeks, so I’m digging out some previous projects that I haven’t shown you before.
This lamp shade is actually a remake of the deconstructed lamp shade that I made for the wine crate lamp. Excuse the pictures- I took a few quick shots with the camera on my phone while at my booth yesterday.
Someone did a little switcheroo on my lamp shades, so I needed a replacement for the trash can shade. I used wired burlap ribbon to make a little “collar” around the shade, then added a rose made from the same ribbon on the front.
I decided to add a little surprise detail to the back by simply cutting three raggedy squares and layering them, with a button at the center.
It’s a little funky, not really sure that it goes with the lamp base. Maybe I should repaint the base? Black?
While I was at my booth, I took a couple of shots to show you the new space.
Woodstock Market is having a big 2 year anniversary celebration this weekend, so if you are in the Woodstock, Georgia area, come on out for some great deals and yummy treats. There will be a 20% off sale on everything in the store Saturday- I may have to do a little shopping myself!
Doodles,
Hope your dad is doing better!
Your shop is beautiful – I love the lilac purple. And I love the color of the base of the lamps :), I think it compliments the lampshade really well!
BTW..what is the green frame?
That is the chicken wire frame from this post: http://www.plumdoodles.com/2014/02/26/milk-paint-frames-chicken-wire/ 🙂
Hi …so glad to hear your dad is doing better? and getting relief? Hope so. The shade is so unusual. Nicely done.Is spring approaching your area? It is here, I am awaiting the tulips and hyacinths to be sure.♥
Thank you, Bernice- his back is doing much better already, though he is weak from so much inactivity over the last several months. We had a spring teaser, then back to cold weather. The daffodils are springing up everywhere, though.
I’m so glad your Dad is doing better that’s great news. The collar is really funky although I loved the trash can shade.
Your new booth looks so bright and chery I hope it’s all going well
Your shade is so pretty! You really made this one look like a custom shade; I love your idea!
I like the shade. Pretty neat. You are so creative.
Your booth looks great. Have been thinking of you and hope your dad is much, much improved!
Your new space looks great, Sheila! I’m headed to my booth today, too {before the next snowstorm hits this weekend!}.
