If you haven’t joined HomeTalk yet, get yourself on over there and sign up! It’s a great online community of contractors, decorators, landscapers and homeowners who ask questions, share ideas, and give advice about doing your own home improvements (or finding the right contractor for your project.)
Saturday, I joined in the ‘real world’ fun of HomeTalk-ers at Woodstock Furniture Outlet.
Lee Anne Culpepper, one of the resident experts on HomeTalk demonstrated quick and easy Christmas decorating ideas. Lee Anne is an interior designer in the Atlanta area, as well as hosting a design show on the radio and teaching design classes at Emory University. Yes, she has that much energy!
The demonstration was held in the floral department. Come on back, y’all!
Don’t mess with Lee Anne! Danny Clark does gorgeous floral arrangements at WFO- must have said something wrong, though! Or maybe it was a high-five? Yeah, let’s go with that. 🙂
A quick and easy idea- fill a vase with Christmas ornaments- some of my favorite colors- blue and silver. Yamini volunteered to be Vanna for the day.
An unusual topiary using styrofoam balls.
Fill a cake plate with ornaments for a colorful Christmas cloche.
Simply wrap various colors of tulle around a straw form for an elegant fall wreath.
- Use oven cleaner on brass candlesticks to patina them. I may have to give these a second look at the thrift stores.
- Fill a bucket with water. Spray metallic paint onto the surface of the water and swirl it around. Dip floral stems into the water- the paint will add a swirly texture to the flowers. Definitely going to try this!
Thanks, Lee Anne, for a great demonstration. You were a hoot! See ya’ around HomeTalk! 🙂
