This weekend, I attended the Haven Conference 2013- wow, what a fun and exhausting time! Soo much to learn, see, and do. Best of all? Meeting fellow bloggers face to face, some for the first time ever. I may have been a tiny bit awestruck now and then.
I loved meeting and getting to know Kathy from Creative Home Expressions, and I always enjoy hanging out with my friend Betsy from Coastal Colors. (Please excuse the grainy pics- most were taken with my phone.)
Thursday evening brought us all together at a cocktail party. The weather was breezy and relatively cool, a nice surprise and a blessing in HotLanta.
Lovely hydrangea centerpieces perked up the tables.
On Friday, we talked with the generous sponsors of the conference, and received more goodies to add to our swag bags (more on the whole stash later).
One generous gift I was excited about was the choice of one of three tools from Kreg. I received the Kreg Jig Jr last year, so I snatched politely waited for a Rip-Cut guide for my (our) circular saw. Hopefully, I can cut a straighter line now. (See the footboard wall hanging for my first attempt without a guide.)
Or maybe I should say, how NOT to build a spice rack. One of the side pieces was accidentally turned the wrong way, so the holes didn’t line up correctly from side to side. I think they did this intentionally to make us all feel better about our own woodworking skills.
We had a couple of hours between each class to mingle. Betsy shared some of her pics with me for this collage.
I’m sure you’ll recognize a few names on the chalkboard wall of fame:
Some of the swag we received this year, wow!
I’m sure I’ll be sharing more later- right now, I need to rest and process an incredible Haven Conference 2013. Thank you to Rhoda and the rest of the team, and sponsors for making it a fun and informative weekend. Y’all are the best!
