Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I had a busy Saturday visiting yard sales and thrift stores, looking for treasures to repurpose for my booth. Follow my facebook page, and you’ll get the preview edition.
I didn’t find much this weekend, but this antique stoneware foot warmer made the wandering worthwhile. I’ve never seen one before; have you? The top screws off and I’m guessing that you put hot water inside. What luxury!
At the same yard sale, I found this wooden desk chair. The seat raises and lowers by swiveling the chair around. With the carving on top, it’s pretty as is, so I’m waffling on whether to paint it. I haven’t even wiped it down yet- yikes, look at that dust. No dust in the rest of my house, of course….
I swore to myself that I wouldn’t do any more chairs, but you know what a softie I am about curvy lines and pretty details.
I found this little gem last weekend for $1. The mark on the bottom says Shelley Fine Bone China England Violets, #13821. Violets and a curvy rim- ahh, I just can’t quite part with it, at least not yet.
The same lady sold me another creamer and sugar bowl (lid missing) made in Bavaria, with violets and gold trim. Goofy me, I set the bag down (too hard) to pull out my money and broke the sugar bowl before I had even paid for it! Arg! That creamer is now in my booth without its mate.
The threat of rain seemed to keep most yard sales from occurring as planned this weekend, but we ever-hopeful salers were out there searching. Do you enjoy finding treasures at yard sales? Desk chair- paint it or clean it and leave as is?
