You already know how I tend to buy frames at thrift stores in the solemn belief that Someday I’ll make Something with them. I liked the shape of this frame and decided to make a smaller version of my previous diy bulletin board, with a few changes. For this board, I also made some blinged-up pins for attaching daydreams and love notes.
I wrapped a piece of foam core board with drop cloth and transferred a dress form graphic from Graphics Fairy. I popped it into the frame (which I had painted and glazed), but It seemed a little plain, so I added black grosgrain ribbon.
Apparently I didn’t line it up very well and ended up with a gap between the ribbon and frame, so I glued the silver cording in the gap and added a swirl where the ends met up. I also glued a few metal flower thingies on there just because.
I found these tiny ring thingies (lots of thingies today) on clearance at Michael’s and thought they would be great for dressing up some straight pins.
I used a drop of super glue to attach the ring to the pin head. This didn’t really hold very well, so I also applied Dap Household Adhesive to the back side. This is the same adhesive I used on my cupcake/ dessert stands and seems to be holding much better.
An Eiffel Tower graphic from Graphics Fairy is the first addition to my new diy bulletin board with blingy pins.
In other news, I’m both excited and nervous because I rented a booth at the local Woodstock Market for the first weekend in October- this will be one of the items for sale.
I’m hoping/ praying I won’t be bringing all this stuff back home with me. I’ll show you more of what I’ve been working on over the next week or so. If you have any suggestions on displays, setup, what supplies I may need to take with me, please chime in!
