Heads up, this is a long, picture-loaded post. Dad turned 73 years old on Friday, so we headed up to Dillard on Saturday to celebrate his birthday. He had also asked us to bring something back home with us for our son Michael. Michael lives in an apartment, so we’ll be storing it in our garage.
One of Richard’s co-workers, Marty, was kind enough to loan us his truck and trailer.
A couple of hours on the road and we’re at Dad’s house, ready to start loading. Dad moves the Corvette out of the carport.
Lining up with the ramps. Power windows don’t work, so Dad had to keep the door open to hear directions from Richard.
Is it straight?
You can see how little ground clearance the car has. There was a little bit of damage getting the car onto the trailer. Richard had to rig some extra boards to get the car completely on the trailer without any additional damage. Now if Dad can just get out of the car….
Whew, he made it!
Ok, now we can take Dad out for his birthday. He decided on Mexican food.
Dad and my step-mom Ellen:
My sister Lynn and her granddaughter Kaylee (I must have missed something fascinating):
My niece (Lynn’s youngest daughter) Nichole:
Fried ice cream!
Had to include a picture of me and Dad, even though I look like a drowned rat. (What I didn’t mention before is that the car loading involved dodging rain showers.
Oh, you’re wondering what fabulous gift we gave Dad? Um, pants and a shirt. Yeah….
