Courage. This word has been whispering in my spirit this new year. When Layla over at The Lettered Cottage suggested that we pick a word for 2012, courage whispered again.
Fear says you can’t do it or you can’t do it right. Starting a blog and buying furniture to refinish and sell, scary. Truth says, “But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work.” ~2Chr 15:7 (NASB)
Fear says run away from difficulty; run away from uncertainty. Not knowing enough about blogging or starting a business to even know what questions to ask (or who to ask), scary. Truth says, “Wait for the LORD; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the LORD.” ~Ps 27:14 (NASB)
Fear causes inner turmoil, sleepless nights. Truth says, “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” ~John 16:33 (NASB)
Courage to go forward, to do and be all He calls us to.
What about you? What is our heavenly Father speaking to you this new year?
