I’m not really sure what to call these little guys, but they are sort of like topiaries. Or mini totem poles? I had a few odds and ends from thrift store shopping and thought I would put them together to make ceramic and jute topiaries. Or totem poles. Stack’em up thingies.
I also used two small flower pots and a couple of wooden knobs. Didn’t get before pics of those, but you get the idea. I spray painted all of them and added a glaze. Glued them together using Dap Household Adhesive. That’s a bottle of Mod Podge being used as a weight, since I have such wonderful results with decoupage projects.
All glued together. Oh, I needed to carve out a small section of the wood knob to accommodate the raised leaf on the pumpkin. Richard was kind enough to get out a wood rasp and do that for me.
Still needed a little something. I had planned on using Spanish moss to build a little nest around the knob, but got frustrated with the messiness of it. So, I wrapped and hot glued jute twine around it instead.
I’m not sure if I like them, hence the ivy that covers a multitude of eh-ness. Ceramic and jute topiaries- add to the things to take to market, or back to the thrift store? I’ll be sharing pics of market items on my facebook page, so be sure to head over there as well.
