I mentioned to you yesterday while giving you the hoo-hah on my watering can arrangement that we made a quick trip to Melbourne, Florida for the weekend. Richard’s niece was getting married, so we drove down on Friday and came back on Sunday.
The beach was beautiful, though chilly and windy.
Phil and Laurence were married on the boardwalk at the beach house they rented. Aren’t they cute?
Laurence’s dress is gorgeous (as is she). And you know she chose purple for her wedding just for me, right? ![]()
So, that was Saturday afternoon. We started back to Georgia on Sunday morning, no real time for sightseeing before we left.
Richard needed to fuel up for the long haul.
In order to keep myself occupied, I tried to catch interesting shots with my camera as we drove along. Probably not a good idea if you’re the driver, though. Excuse the blurry pictures- we were zooming along going the speed limit, you know.
Just as we were leaving, I caught this spot nestled between the trees.
Not sure where this cool looking bridge was- Richard thinks it was Orlando.
A little cloud watching passes the time, too. Seems appropriate that an alligator would be seen in Florida, no?
Getting desperate here. Time for a little twist on the alphabet game. Ever play that when you were a kid? What were the toughest letters to find? X was always one of the hardest, but it may be the easiest on long distance travels, thanks to the interstates.
J, Q, and Z are still tough to find, and even tougher trying to capture with a camera. As we’re driving along at the speed limit.
We didn’t make it home before sunset, but I’m thankful for a safe trip, unlike poor Sherry from No Minimalist Here. Go read her nightmare vacation and you’ll understand why I am happy to be home safe and sound.
What do you do to entertain yourself on long road trips?

hmmm I live in Melbourne, got all excited for a minute lol, beautiful wedding and I love your games.
We tell riddles or we make up our own words to songs but it has to be about a theme.
