Sometimes I jump into a project without proper prep work. Like neglecting to mask off areas where I don’t want to get paint.
I wanted to touch up a few areas on this chair, but I didn’t like the result, so I kept painting. Before I knew it, I had painted the whole chair. Well, except for the fabric.
I should say, I didn’t intentionally paint the fabric. I swiped one small area on the seat, just under the back, with the paint brush. Yikes!
I told myself it wasn’t really noticeable, and left it while I glazed and applied wipe on poly. Which means that spot sat there mocking me for a week, maybe two.
I finally decided to try Oops Remover on it. I learned about this product from the painters who painted our living room. They used it on spots they had tracked onto our carpet- worked perfectly.
Just squirt a little on a paper towel and blot until paint is gone. It really is amazing how well this stuff works, even after the paint has dried.
You can still see a faint shadow of paint, but much better, don’t you think?
Be sure to test Oops Remover on an inconspicuous area to make sure it doesn’t damage or discolor your fabric/ carpet.
Now that I’ve removed the accidental paint from the fabric, I’m thinking I would love to add a stencil of some kind. I’m pretty nervous about messing it up, though. Any tips for stenciling on a non-firm surface?

Great tip! I have done the same thing and struggled to remove the paint from fabric! Perhaps, on the stencil tape and hold it firmly as you stencil; that’s a tricky issue! Good luck!

Wow! I’m filing that in my “need to know” file in my brain. I hope it stays in there. Not the paint, the file
Oh I like that I am going to check out whether we have it here or not, thats a great tip thank you

Thanks, Sheila! I am going to try this on the spots left by my “professional” painters. Yeah…..they don’t care about oops.
I’ll be buying some of this stuff to take a few little paint speckles off of my drapes. They aren’t really noticable, but I know they are there….lol

I had never heard about Oops! before, thanks for that post! Is it effective as well for heavy-duty jobs or is it mostly for fabrics?

I’m not sure what you mean by heavy-duty, but this isn’t a paint stripper. I think it’s just meant to be used as a paint spot remover.
