I had plans to share several more Christmas projects, but I do believe I’ve run out of time. So, I thought I’d just show it to you as a little random Christmas decor, all-in-one post.
First up, the front entry. For the front door, I didn’t bother to take down the metal scroll thingy that I’ve decorated for spring and fall. This time, I just placed a wreath on top, decorated by simply twisting the greenery around purple poinsettias and silver and white floral picks. (Not using glue makes it easy to change on a whim.)
The Santa sign is from the Secret Santa exchange. The hymnal trees from last year survived storage- I placed one on an upturned bowl on the bistro table. I planned to do something with the urn, but didn’t get any farther than removing the dying fern and wrapping the rim with greenery. Ah, well, next year?
I previously showed you the entry table and the living room mantel, as well as the frosty purple wreath.
You saw a bit of the keeping room mantel and Christmas tree on my post about the tragic shooting in Newtown, CT
I kept this mantel simple since the Christmas tree moved in here this year.
The reindeer moved from the living room to the keeping room as well.
It was really hard for me to decorate for Christmas this year. I honestly didn’t even want to put up the tree. It all seems so trivial, and yet if I look at it in remembrance of the birth of a Savior, the focus becomes clear. Salvation is certainly something to celebrate, heaven something to look forward to with anticipation and joy. Believe. In Jesus. Yes, I can do that.
I pray your Christmas celebrations will be full of remembrance and joy.
Merry Christmas!
Doodles,

Hey, I'm Sheila, and I'm so glad you're here! Stick around for a doodle of fun, faith, and furniture. Want to learn more?

Very pretty, Sheila! I saw some purple poinsettia plants {real ones} at Kroger supermarket the other day. I did a double take because I’d never seen colors other than red, white and pink. They had a few other colors, including the purple. I guess they might have been sprayed with the color? Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas, Sheila! Your home looks so pretty and festive! I love seeing your “plum purple” Christmas decorations! You have done a wonderful job! Thank you for the precious reminder of Christmas! Yes, Our Savior’s birth is certainly a reason to celebrate! You’re right, believe- I do too!
